August 27, 2001 the State of Delaware commemorated a monument on Long
Island to the Continental Delaware Regiment who played a vital part in
the retreat of the American Army, preventing the annihilation of 3000
troops of General Washington by the British Troop 225 year before. The
seven foot blue granite contains the seal of Delaware and the history of
the regiment.
