2018 HURRICANE SEASON

ACCUWEATHER'S DAN
KOTTOWSKI
After the 2017
devastating hurricane season, AccuWeather predicts a slightly
above
normal season with 12 to
15 tropical storms , 6 to 8 which will become hurricanes, with at
least 3 major hurricanes.
Sea temperatures at the
surface are expected to be warmer that normal which will create
favorable conditions for
tropical development. Another Harvey, Irma or Maria like last
year will be more than
enough to cause catastrophic damage.
The Gulf of Mexico is
already ripe for early season development and the projected
pattern from Houston to
Florida, up through the Outer Banks, make for more
favorable impacts.
Everyone should be
vigilant and prepared, with a hurricane plan in action. Always
prepare
for the worst case scenario
and listen to the officials.
