BIOCHAR

AGRICULTURAL NEWS

BIOCHAR

This is an abstract from a agriculture news magazine, the January 29,
2019, Delmarva Farmer out of Easton, Maryland. It a reference to the use
of a biochar to improve the soil which our vegetables and cereals are
grown in. It requires the use of biomass. I am not against this program but
think the public should know of it's use.

Remember , biomass is the waste of plants, things not used for food or
feed, manure and human waste from sewage plants, used for energy and
chemical manufacturing. Biochar is a porous charcoal like material
produced by a high temperature decomposition of biomass. It improves
agriculture production up to 15 percent. Research shows application of
biochar can save millions of dollars in health cost by improving air quality.
It can be considered as a resource saving, crop boosting and health care improving material and should be seriously considered.

Research teams of Rice University and North Dakota State University lead
the way for it's use.
