From
class papers of third grade youngsrers, eight years old.
Grandparents
are a lady and a man who have no little children, but likes
other
peoples little children.
A
grandfather is a man gandmother.
Grandparents
don't have anything to do except be there when we cme to
see
them. They are so old they are not allowed to run or play hard
games.
We
like them because they drive us to the store and have lots of
nickles
and
dimes for us.
When
they take walks they are slow bcause theY see pretty things like
leaves
and caterpillers. They tell us to see the colors. And dont
step
on
the cracks in the pavement.
They
never say “hurry up”.
Most
grandmothers are rather fat but not too fat to tie your shoe
laces.
They
wear glasses to see through, and funny underwear, can take
their gums and teeth out. And, no, they dont have to be smart,
but can answer
questions
like “how come dogs chase sats”.
Everybody
should try to have a grandmother, especially if they dont have
television,
because they are the only grownups who like to spend time
with
us and know we should have a snack at bedtme .
When
asked where his grandmom lived, a six year old told us she lives
at
the airport and when we want her we just go get her.
