ATLANTIC
HURRICANE FIFI
SEPTEMBER
6 1958
The
Atlantic ocean hurricane of the day Fefi, is acting good,
turned on a course which will take it away from the U. S. Mainland,
is
a
way out to sea, not very strong winds and today has 75 mph winds,
is
1000
miles southeast of Miami, turning northward.
Fifi
had been moving west northwest, towards Georgia coast,
but
this morning's reconnaissance aircraft flights report it is on
a
true
northwest course and has even slowed to about 8 mph.
Right
now it sits 22.3 north latitude and 64.6 longitude with gale
force
winds extending 150 to the north and 65 to the south.
