LEWES
NAVAL STATION CLOSED
SALISBURY
DAILY TIMES
Next
week in Wilmington, the Delaware Department of Natural
Resources
& Environmental Control , Delaware State Parks Division,
The
U.S. Naval Reserve and Senators Biden and Roth are to meet to work
out
the use of 600 acres of the Lewes Naval Station which closed
today.
This
effects the Delaware Technical & Community College in that
it
will
not be able to expand a southern campus at the Naval building
where
it was to hold classes in hotel and food management, and, a bunker
to
house sea treasurers collections.
The
General Services Administration expects to add the rest of the 600
acres,
less the 16 acres retained by Naval Reserve, to the Henlopen
State
Park.
