Greg
Ferrese, Rehoboth Beach city manager reports that the damage by
the January 4 storm to the boardwalk mostly repaired by Easter
and done by Mothers Day weekend.
The
boardwalk is 'Rehoboths' bread and butter and it is vital that it is
repaired.
It tune, the battered boardwalk has been a curiosity this
winter as
many
tourist have come to take a look.
Dean
Phillips, manager of Betheny Beach has repeated this. There have
been crowds downtown where usually a sea gull might be seen, at
times.
The
Rehoboth damage amounted to over $800,000, of which 75%
will
be paid by Federal money. Parking meter's will be raised to 75
cent an
hour
next summer to help with the cost Rehoboth has to pay.
Betheny
Beach damage was at $231,000, and will receive 75%
Federal
money and does not think it will need to raise any taxes.
