HISTORY OF EASTER STORMS

1932 EASTER STORMS BRING GREAT DAMAGE

The Salisbury, Maryland, Daily Times newspaper, reports great damages and 15 deaths,
tornado winds in Richmond, the Town Hall of Centerville, Maryland destroyed by winds,
the Northern States under heavy snow, isolated. Transportation at a standstill.

High surf waves gnashed at the Maine coast, Harrisburg was without electric, mail is piled up at post offices, a state police advise drivers to stay home. An 8 year old boy was killed in Loretto, near Richmond, when a tornado shattered his home.

Governor Roosevelt was snowbound at Hyde Park and a five floor building in Peekskill was washed away.

Cold and rain canceled the egg rolling on the White house grounds. In Maryland , hit by the
storms Sunday and Monday, were near normal today, Tuesday, as communication's and
transportation were rapidly returned to service. Western Maryland where the blizzard his
hardest is still restoring power lines. Frostburg, in the mountains had 18 inches of heavy snow.

In Cecil county a life was lost when the body of Charles Lum of Fairhill was found in a field, a victim of exposure.
