SENATOR JOHN J.
WILLIAMS
1968 STATUS
Senator John J. Williams,
of Delaware, republican, declined comment yesterday
on a Newsweek report that
he will not run again when his term expires n 1970. The
magazines column stated
without qualification the 63 year old senator will not be a
candidate for reelection
of a fourth term.
The senator, a year ago,
introduced a bill which would provide mandatory retirement of
members of Congress and
would bar him from running again.
In 1964 Williams was the
only Republican survivor of the Democratic landslide then.
