STENOGRAPHY &
SHORTHAND
The history of
shorthand is related with paleography, the study of ancient
writing,
with antiquarians trying
to connect it with hieroglyphics, Egyptian writings or drawings.
It has
been known to have been
used more than 1000 years BC y Persians, Egyptians and
Hebrews.
The first of modern
shorthand was used in London is 1588 by Dr. Timothy
Bright and pr5esented to
Queen Elizabeth.
Gurney's was an early
English system and issued by Mason in 1672 then
improved by Thomas Gurney
in 1730.
