REHOBOTH'S NEW FIRE HALL
OPENS
LIONS CLUB FLAY DAY
The new $45,000 brick
colonial style fire house for Rehoboth went into use this week when
the engines and other equipment was moved into the larger structure
which has been
under construction since
last summer next to City Hall.
The new building has more
room than old one in the next block with a large
auditorium on the second
floor, meeting rooms and locker room are on first floor.
The new fire house has
higher ceilings and will better fit the ladder trucks. The
siren is now in the new
building cupola.
The new ambulance ,
donated by the Kwanis Club, will be housed with the fire
equipment and will be
operated by firemen.
Charles Saunders is the
president of the volunteer fire department this year.
Flag Day is celebrated by
the Lion Club at it's next meeting at the country club when
Ernes Errigo,, Lions
District Governon, will address the group. Leon “Blub”
Thompson
is the overall flag Day
chairman. Gene Bookhammer is president of this years Lions Club,
Irvin Veinot and
George Ellingsworth, vice presidents, Jule Stamper, secretary,
Tom
Wilson, treasurer,
George Mettee, tail twister, Walt Grey, Lion Tamer.
Lion's outgoing president,
Mayor Carlton Shaffer was master of ceremonies.
