THE CONTESTENTS ARE:

Deborah Ann Backer, age 18, Miss Rehoboth, the daughter of Mrs.

Edward Backer, Jr., of Rehoboth Beach, 5' 4” , dark brown hair,

brown eyes, 118 pounds. Intends to be an airline hostess when she

graduates the University of Delaware . Debbie's into dancing and

dramatics and is a graduate of Rehoboth High School . The sponsor

is the Rehoboth Kiwanis club..

June Ann Clark, age 20, Miss Prices Corner, likes to sing, is a

model, attends Goldey Beacom to be a medical secretary. Daughter

of Mr & Mrs James Clark, Sr., of Newark. 5' -5-3/4” tall, 130

pounds, auburn hair, brown eyes. Her sponsor is the Prices Corner Business Men's Association. 

Pamela Ann Faust, 18, Miss Lewes, to attend Weaver Airlines

Personnel School, 5' 6” , brunette, 130 pounds, likes to sing and is a horse lover, a varsity field hockey player at Lewes High School.

Daughter of Mr & Mrs Robert Faust of Lewes. He r sponsor is

Lewes Rotary Club.

Gayle Freeman, age 19, Miss Brandywine Junior College,

daughter of Mr & Mrs Donald Freeman, Woodbury, New Jersey,

attending Brandywine Junior College, Wilmington . Sings and

plays guitar , a tennis player and cheerleader. 5' 5-1/2” tall, 123

pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes.

Carol Marie Gallagher, Miss Talleyville, 19, 5' 5-3/4” tall,

hazel eyes, brown hair, 107 pounds, a graduate of Padua Academy,

attends University of Delaware. Daughter of Mr & Mrs Andrew

Gallagher, Arden, sponsored by Talleyville Jaycees.

Peggy Ann George, Miss Delaware State Alumni, 20, is a stewardess trainee at American Airlines in Connecticut, a

graduate of Delaware State. She also studied at Marion Tracy Dance

School. She is 5' 3-1/2” tall, 128 pounds, brown hair and brown

eyes. She is into dancing and painting, an active church worker. Her

parents are Mr & Mrs Bennie George of Hartley. Her sponsor is the

Delaware State Alumni Association.

Lynne Marie Henerson, Miss University of Delaware, 18, the

daughter of Mr & Mrs Norman Henderson of Woodbury, New Jersey ,

5' 7”, 129 pounds, blond and blue eyes.. Attends U of D, is on the

dean list. She plays the piano, like to sew and swimming.. Her

sponsor is the class of 1971 U of D

Virginia Lee Hughes, Miss New Castle, 21, 118 pounds, brown

hair, hazel eyes, 5' 7” tall. Attends College of New Rochelle, plays

piano and organ. Daughter of Mr & Mrs Charles Hughes, Pleasant

Hill. Sponsor is Christiana Lions Club..

Barbara Dean May, Miss Milford, 21, a graduate of Catholic

University and is a speech therapist , travels Europe, likes tennis and

swimming. 5' 5” tall , 120 pounds, red hair and green eyes. Her

parents are Major & Mrs Harold May of Milford and is sponsored by

Milford Jaycees.

Linda Norda, Miss Greater Wilmington, daughter of Mr & Mrs

Orlin Norder of Kynlya. She is 21, 118 pounds, 5' 6”, attends Goldey

Beacom. Dances, writes her own lyrics and loves to cook.. Also attends

the Powers Modeling School in Philadelphia. Her sponsor is the

Kiwanis Club of Rodney Square.

Linda Ann Richie, Miss Seaford, attends Richmond Institute and

hopes to be an artist. Plays drums, graduate of Seaford High, 5' 6-3/4”

126 pounds, brown hair, hazel eyes. City of Seaford is her sponsor.
