ATLANIC CANNING


REHOBOTH'S ATLANTIC CANNING COMPANY

This canning factory sat on 14 acres along the bank of the Delaware and

Assawamon Canal. Buildings occupying about 4 acres. The main building

is a three story, metal, 15.250 Sq. Ft. , floor space, cement ground

floor. The boiler house is 40 x 60 x 12, concrete floor, with an 85 foot

brick chimney, with tubular boilers which produce 1160 HP.

There are three warehouses , one is two story with 100 x 100 concrete

floor, and two, two story, 38 x 80, with concrete floor.

Two open side sheds, one 60 x 75 with concrete floor, and one 50 x 100

with concrete floor. Help quarters, a residence and garage, office building,
tool shed, outhouses, barn, a wharf, water tank, and 4 deep wells. The

main building hold the processing equipment to handle 20,000 bushel in

A 10 hour day of tomatoes to be packed as #10 tomatoes, catchup and

tomato paste. This cannery was first deeded on October 1, 1913.
